Inspired by first-hand experiences since childhood, Myoji’s form of expression is mainly installation work that explores the female body, gender, and identity, in relation with issues surrounding the consumption of such themes. Our identities are all shaped by the culture and community to which we belong to. Even the Framework of gender is not an exception, Through creating artworks, I continuously question how people define themselves as “men” or “women” in their communities, what forms our identities, and the gender-oriented distortions caused by this identity formation in society.
