2012-13 Upon receiving a grant from the Sapporo City Foundation for Arts and Cultural Promotion, resided in Berlin, Germany

Yamamoto creates abstract by intricately interlacing colored circles and cut-out parts of circles between multiple transparent layers. By contemplating the ambiguous positioning and correlation that arise from the various conjunctions of circles, Yamamoto gives his work a structure that reflects his perceptions and intentions in the real world. In recent years, in order to actively incorporate external factors to the abstract nature of his creations, Yamamoto collaborated with a programmer to develop his own custom computer application and has since introduced into his creative process, a drawing system that generates drawings based on random digits.
