Mariko Fujimoto
OVERVIEW
1991 Born in Tokyo, Japan
2014 Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Painting, Oil Painting
Currently resides in NYC and continues to create and present works as an artist in NYC and Tokyo.
Fujimoto’s work mixes figures with landscapes and imaginary images. There are two main themes of landscapes and images: (1) those that evoke sympathy and nostalgia, and (2) those that are seemingly incongruous, but which she has created based on dreams she had herself. Mariko calls her paintings her personal pictorial diary that viewers are able to relate to.
